THE MOSEL REGION

Located in far western Germany, the Mosel valley’s steep, southfacing slopes create the perfect climate for Riesling, giving the vines ideal exposure to the sun. The cool climate allows the grapes to ripen slowly while retaining bright acidity.

ERDENER TREPPCHEN RIESLING SPÄTLESE

The Spätlese designation means that the grapes get an extra week or two of hang time, which helps them develop higher ripeness and deeper flavors. The Erdener Treppchen Spätlese is a fruit-driven Riesling that combines extraordinary concentration and length with bracing minerality.

THE 2015 VINTAGE

‘Under close to perfect conditions, we were able to harvest grapes with optimal must weights and acidity levels, producing wines in all quality levels. The vintage also gave us excellent yields, with a beautiful balance of ripeness and acidity. The wines are dense and concentrated, but with the delicate and graceful style of the Mosel.’

RIESLING DRY RED SLATE

This dry Riesling is produced with fruit from estate-owned vineyards in the red slate soils found in the villages of Ürzig, Erden, Lösnich and Kinheim. It is fermented in the traditional style in 3,000-liter, neutral oak casks and kept on the full lees for 12 months. The extended lees contact stabilizes the wine naturally and gives it time to develop a harmonious balance.

– One of a pair of amphora fermented and aged wines, this is made from the Moreto grape commonly found in Alentejo blends but rarely found by itself. This dark-colored wine is a departure for the grape, bringing out reserves of richness. The soft tannins and almost sweet character are more typical and result in a full wine that is ready to drink.

Clear & bright, it is golden in colour with traces of green. It has a sweet bouquet of white & yellow roses, peaches and apricots followed by complex hints of minerals. On the palate it’s full & rounded with notes of citrus fruits and minerals, a structured & fleshy with elegance & finesse.

86 Points Wine Enthusiast

“Soft, earthy and gentle, this is already developing and drinkable. It has fresh lemon flavors along with bright pineapple. Finished with bright acidity, it is lightly mineral and crisp at the end. Drink now.”

Duas Quintas is a white wine from the Upper Douro, more specifically from Quinta de Ervamoira (150 metres altitude) and Quinta dos Bons Ares (600 metres altitude), and is a
blend of traditional grape varieties that expresses the potential of this most extreme region. It is a structured, unctuous white wine but also fine and elegant.
2013 was an excellent year for our production of white wines on the Upper Douro. Its climatic characteristics, namely a wet winter and dry summer, as well as the perfect conditions that occurred during harvest (between August 13th and September 18th), provided very well balanced grapes with great aromatic expression
