A family winery originally founded in 1918 as Bodegas Arjona but in 1983 the Navajas family become the sole stockholders, changing its name to Bodegas Navajas
The year 2000 was a turning point in the Bodegas history when they invested in enlarging and improving the winery and cellars with a new barrel-aging area and new modern facilities equipped with state-of-the-art technology. The Navajas family believe that the quality of the wine begins in the vineyards and for this reason they monitor and control the vineyards which belongs to their growers in Rioja Alta and Baja.
Cabernet Merlot Cape Mentelle, Margaret River, 2013
Opaque black dark purple colour with dark purple red hue. The nose is a little subdued with aromas of blackcurrant, mulberry, cedary tobacco and spice emerging. Medium weight the palate is a little closed at present with flavours of ripe mulberry, cedar, a touch of tobacco and spice. Fine grained, slightly dryish tannins. Aftertaste of blackcurrant, mulberry, tobacco and spicy cedar.
Casta Diva DO Cosecha Miel Moscatel (50cl), 2013
The Moscatel grapes are late picked, resulting in a very high residual sugar. Ageing in a variety of barrels (including some Hungarian and Caucasian) enhances this already complex, deep flavoured wine which is characterised by orange peel, honey, raisins and spices and great length. A fantastic dessert wine.

A deep plummy red with ripe black fruit characteristics, herbs and spices with unmistakable aromas of fresh earth. Complex with a firm grip of tannins, typical of the region.

Classic fermentation method, involving selective extractive enzymes, which are compatible with the active dry yeasts. Fermentation up to 30º C in the first 2/3, and lowering down to 20º C during the last 1/3. During the whole fermentative process, pumping over 2 times per day, using each time half of the volume contained in the vat. After the alcoholic fermentation, the cap is plunged for 30 days, and during that period, extraction of the gentle tannins is conducted, along with the malolactic fermentation and the natural stabilization of the wine.
Ageing Wine is aged in new French of Allier oak barrels of 225 Lt, for 3 months. Ageing in bottle a minimum 3 months after bottling.
Tasting Notes Rich and full bodied but very smooth. Delicious intense fruit with a complex and elegant finish.
How to Serve Superb on its own, it is also an excellent to any meat dishes, oily fish, spicy food, Mediterranean cuisine and cheese. We recommend to serve at the temperature of 16-18ºC.

The hand-selected, botrytised grapes (affected by ‘Noble Rot’) are grown only in estate-owned vineyards. The resulting extremely concentrated juice makes luscious, ripe, racy, mineral-inflected wine that, though sweet, remains crisp and lively.
E. Guigal – Saint-Joseph, Rhone, 2013
E. Guigal is a winery and négociant business situated in Ampuis in the northern part of the Rhône region in France. Founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal, today it’s arguably the most famous producer in the Rhône Valley.
A powerful nose dominated by red berries and integrated oak aromas. Round and supple in the mouth, medium-bodied with good freshness. Berry fruit is interlaced with nuances of herb and olive.
Familia Schroeder – Malbec Saurus Select, 2013
This Malbec features an intense dark purplish red that shows maturity. On the nose it is complex – ripe red fruit aromas such as currants, plums and sour cherries melt with some spicy hints. Due to ageing in oak casks some vanilla, bitter chocolate and coffee notes are shown. The mouth-feel is pleasant and well balanced. The long, lingering finish is dominated by sweet, velvety tannins.

“The 2010 Saurus Select Malbec is a little reticent on the nose despite coaxing. The palate is medium-bodied with a terse, saline-tinged entry. La Ruffe “les Cuvées Rares”, Calmel & Joseph, 2013
Purple-red robe. A very expressive nose that opens with notes of chocolate and spice, followed by citrus fruit and white flower aromas. There are also hints of pure fruit, reminiscent of freshly-picked, crushed grapes. On the palate this is a clean and lively wine with subtle notes of small red berries and scrubland herbs. The tannins are elegant, discreet and well-integrated. The balance and originality of this wine gives it its “cuvée rare” status.
Clay limestone and blood-red “ruffes” soil typically found in the Terrasses du Larzac.

Lowburn Ferry – Home Block Pinot Noir, Central Otago 2013
‘Very perfumed nose, lifts out of the glass like a puff of talc, wild cherry ground into fine powder. Much less ethereal on the palate than the nose would suggest. Fleshy sweet-berried fruit with an earthy flavour that draws from a rounded start to a leaner tightened finish. The acidity really builds on the end. The oak muscles in a little towards the end as well, giving a savoury and slightly cedary note to bring it to a close. Jean and Roger Gibson, who have lived in the Lowburn Valley for 25 years, first planted grapes at Lowburn Ferry Vineyard in 2000 and 2001. The vineyard is nestled on a sheltered north facing terrace in the Lowburn Valley beneath the Pisa Range in Central Otago. The area is perfect for premium Pinot Noir and all their wines are made entirely from their small family estate.
No Stone Unturned, 2013
The wine comes from the very best plots of our friend Pepe Fuster’s stone covered 26 hectare vineyard in Terra Alta in Catalonia, north-eastern Spain. The Garnacha vines are nearly 50 years old and this age gives the wine great concentration an complexity of dark, spicy, blackberry fruit which has been seasoned and enhanced by 10 months in the finest new Dargaud & Jaegle oak barrels from France.

Intense yellow color with gold tints. The nose is very expressive and reveals intense aromas of honey, gingerbread and wood. The palate is rich with deep and intense aromas. Exotic fruits mixed with spices and a touch of sweet liqueur. Very fresh.
Pinot Noir Seven Springs Vineyards, 2013
A well balanced, vibrant Pinot Noir, showing a complexity that belies the age of the vines. Garnet in colour, the wine offers aromas of raspberries and strawberries.
The palate is smooth, medium bodied, with bold fruit characters balanced well with the subtle oak inﬂuence.
Regent, White Castle Vineyard, 2013
Harvest 2013 of White Castle Vineyard Regent grape variety delivered wonderful dark berry aromas and flavours, producing a medium bodied, deep coloured quality red wine. The rich dark cherry aromas and flavours are complemented by the subtle use of French Oak barrels. The result is an elegant and complex wine with a long smooth finish.
Salagόn DOC Rioja Crianza, 2013
Like all the wines produced at Hermanos Hernaiz, the style of this wine is defined by its terroir. It is made largely from the Tempranillo grape grown at several estates with soils dominated by limestone, which in Rioja is call “Salagon”. This Crianza has been aged for one year in American oak barrels, giving it soft spiciness to add to its warm fruit.
