The grapes for the Barbera d’Alba come from the family owned vineyards in Serraluga d’Alba (Ornato and Colombaro), in Sinio, Diano d’Alba and Grinzane Cavour, together with other vineyards belonging to historical suppliers who have been selling their grapes to PIO CESARE for generations, working their vineyards according to our directions and strict quality controls. There is 15 days of skin contact in stainless steel temperature-controlled fermenters. The wine is aged for 18 months in French Allier oak, 30 percent in mid-toasted barriques that are half new and half one year old. The remaining 70 percent were aged in 20 to 50 hectoliter casks of Allier oak that are about 8 years old.

A classic Barolo from one of the greatest ever vintages in Piemonte. Excellent structure and harmony, mild tannins and balanced fruit. It is immediately approachable, but it has a very long ageing potential.

“Pio Cesare’s 2010 Barolo is terrific. Dark red cherries, plums, lavender, smoke and savory herbs open up in the glass, followed by hints of orange peel and white pepper that add both lift and a hugely appealing element of exoticism. The firm, incisive tannins are going to need a few years to settle down. There is a lot to like in this classic, old-school leaning Barolo. The 2010 was made from less well-exposed parcels in Ornato, along with parcels in Collareto and Briccolina, both of which are in the same general area of Serralunga, plus dollops of fruit from La Morra and Grinzane Cavour, virtually all of it estate fruit.”

Light straw yellow colour with slight greenish hints. Broad, varietal, aromatic on the nose, with citric notes of grapefruit, yellow pepper, tomato leaf, sage and balsamic aromas. On the palate it is rich, fragrant and aromatic, with natural acidity and a persistent and pleasant slight bitter aftertaste.
Family and values
The story of San Simone is linked to the territory. At Rondover, between Prata and Porcia, in the most western part of Doc Friuli Grave and central part of DOC Prosecco, the company San Simone is the result of winemaking tradition and culture of our family, which is engaged in the business of wine grower for four generations. We chose the name San Simone for our wines and wine cellar in the memory of our origins. The very first and historic headquarter was in fact situated in via San Simone, Prata, opposite the fourteenth century church devoted to San Simone, where our great-grandfather decided to began his activity which is now been converted into a family residence.
Many changes have taken place over time. But one thing which has not changed is our value system. Values: responsibility towards the reality in which we work, passion for work and transparency in our working system. These are the values which are timeless.

Aromas of pine and mint coupled with ripe stone fruit and citrus. The palate is at once vibrant and textural and finishes crisp. A remarkably sophisticated, surprisingly complex, fruit-driven white.
Verosso Prosecco Spumante DOC Extra Dry
A classic Prosecco from the hills around Treviso in the Veneto region of north eastern Italy. Light straw in colour with a delicate fizz. Fresh watermelon and honeydew notes with a touch of apple on the gently off-dry palate which finishes clean. Delicious!
Villa Antinori Toscana Bianco IGT, 2016
- Villa Antinori Bianco was produced for the first time in 1931 by Niccolò Antinori and since that date the label has remained virtually unaltered, as has the production philosophy, one which aims at the achievement of a strongly Tuscan character in the wine.
- A straw yellow with greenish highlights in color, the wine shows elegant and subtle floral aromas with notes of citrus fruit. The taste is balanced with a fine persistence on the mineral-laced finish.
Zenato – Ripassa Valpolicella Ripasso DOC Superiore, 2012
Ripassa has a deep ruby-red colour, with an intense, persistent bouquet. It is a full bodied, harmonic and velvety smooth.

This wine is closely connected to the greatest wine of Valpolicella: Amarone. After pressing the dried grapes from which Amarone is made, the Valpolicella wine is passed over the still warm marc of Amarone. A second alcoholic fermentation begins which increases the alcoholic content and the wine becomes richer in colour, bouquet
GRAPE VARIETY: 85% Corvina, 10% Rondinella, 5% Oseleta.
VINIFICATION The grapes are de-stemmed and macerated in stainless steel fermenters for 10-12 days. Once the alcoholic fermentation is completed, the new wine is separated from the skins by light pressing and conserved in large oak casks of 54 and 75 hectolitres until February; this is the period in which the dried grapes are pressed to produce Amarone. At this point, the Valpolicella is passed over the marc of the Amarone for a period of 7-8 days at a temperature of 25-28°C. The wine is aged for 18 months in 500 lt. oak casks and barrels.
Food combinations: Excellent companion to game dishes, grilled meat and roasts, salami and aged cheeses.

The vineyards cover 75 hectares in the Zenato estate of S. Cristina in San Benedetto di Lugana, ideal for the Trebbiano di Lugana, and in the Costalunga estate in Valpolicella, the homeland of the famous Amarone Zenato, where the renowned vines Corvina, Rondinella and Oseleta are cultivated.
It all began in 1960 when Sergio Zenato, filled with energy and ambition and driven by his deep bond with the territory, tried out new techniques of wine making and invested in native vines in order to obtain wine of the highest quality.
Today, his wife Carla, together with their children Alberto and Nadia, continues to pursue Sergio’s great enterprise with the same enthusiasm, tenacity and infinite dedication, making the excellence of Zenato’s wines known in more than 60 countries of the world.
In this way, the soul of Lugana and the heart of Valpolicella continue to expand their borders.
