Vertical Tasting & Lunch 12.00 – 2.30
Viader Vintners Tasting Room June 13th 2015
We are pleased to announce that the second in our series of tastings is to be a tutored vertical tasting of the world renowned and iconic wine that is Château Musar.
Although there is evidence that vines have been cultivated in the Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley for more than 6,000 years there have not been many that have had the success that Musar has enjoyed.
The red wines are made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and the Rhône varietals Cinsault and Carignan. (There is also a white wine made from indigenous varietals Obaideh and Merwah)
These wines are never released until seven years after the vintage – and even then are considered infants! Great vintages continue to develop and reward cellaring for many years. They can take on characteristics of Bordeaux, Rhône or Burgundian wines depending on the vintage!
“If you give my wines more time, they will give you more joy.” Serge Hochar
We will be tasting nine vintages, one white and eight reds which will be followed with a delicious Welsh lamb dish served with Lebanese style rice.
